Saturday Sewing Day – by Chrissie
On Saturday, 14th March, we had our sewing day, a chance to make progress on our projects in good company and without any of the usual distractions we all have at home. We also had the joy of one of our youngest visitors, Erica’s baby Felix who was tremendously interested in his new surroundings and behaved impeccably.
Once we were set up there was a hive of activity with the sound of all those sewing machines making headway on various projects. I was working on an ancient quilt top that had its problems as I had inadvertently cut all the sashing the wrong width - and sewn it on. However, disaster was averted by judicious use of left over scraps and it all came together.
Sustained by tea and coffee throughout the day we all made good progress and hopefully we may see the results at our exhibition this year.
Many thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable and productive day.
