Gail Lawther, Silhouette Workshop - by Jane M

We arrived for our workshop with Gail Lawther fully laden, sewing equipment, fabric and on this extremely hot day a mass of fans!

Gail showed us how to make up our background using strips or a panel. We were shown many examples of silhouettes for inspiration and then given templates to trace onto our Bondaweb and cut out.

Gail demonstrated how to use Bondaweb, arrange our scenes and transfer them onto our backgrounds.

We were then let loose with our creations. We were all totally absorbed in our task and the time flew by. Gail gave us plenty of advice and inspiration so we all felt very confident.



By the end of the afternoon we had all planned, laid out and in many cases secured our scenes, confident in completing our pieces in time for our exhibition in October.
