Four ways of creating Cathedral Windows - by Jo

What a very enjoyable evening at Shirley Quilters. Very clever adaptations of Cathedral Windows and lots of friendly chatter.

Deirdre started the evening off with a summary of Kate's very informative newsletter about the many events of interest coming up in the next few months, followed by asking members to sign up for the Quilt Show in October, to help with the running of the show on the day and to bake for the Cafe.

Then four very clever members of our group showed us a variety of ways to make Cathedral Windows.

Eileen showed us how she had made her very lovely "Vintage" pram blanket 42 years ago in the more traditional way of creating Cathedral Windows. Chrissie showed us how to make Cathedral Windows using tubes of material and duck tape, slightly mind blowing. Jenny made Cathedral Windows into Pinwheels and Windmills which was very clever and finally Deirdre showed us how to make Cathedral Windows using a variety of fabrics for backgrounds. So much to take in but luckily for us, before I have even written my review, our very kind committee has already forwarded many instructions for these methods.

I would just like to say thank you to our committee for all their hard work in making all our evenings so enjoyable.
